i went out with the girls last night, jenny & mindy. we did sushi at saburo’s and since we can’t hang out there without getting dirty looks from people waiting, we made our way to staccato gelato. and my goodness, their fresh strawberry gelato has to be the best thing. ever.

these girls, i can’t say enough about them, they’re beautiful and silly and loving and fabulicious. and i am encouraged and challenged when i am with them. these are the girls i can turn to if i need prayer or accountability or encouragement or just general distress, but it’s hard for us to get together because we’re all so busy. and we always end up laughing a lot.

especially since the recent discovery of mindy’s newly acquired crush on a little man. apparently he’s small. he has full sized parents and a younger baby brother. his world is normal size but he is 3 inches tall. and mindy is quite smitten. she made us promise to watch or find him online.

“if he was real and older, i’d take him in my hands and carry him everyday.”

this of course if he was real, no longer 12 years old, and not a cartoon, but the fact that he’s a little man, that doesn’t bother her. by this time in the conversation, me and jenny almost had tears and we could not breathe, mostly because mindy was absolutely serious.

this week has been sort of a crazy one. busy but filled with all sorts of good things. completely last minute, i caught a jars of clay show @ the roseland on tuesday night. definitely the best $1.02 i have ever spent. and finally got to try out voodoo doughnut which is a little crazy but definitely a lot of fun. we walked in and immediately looked up to see 4 people crammed into a tiny loft space above us singing celtic-gothy type music, the girl eating a doughnut between songs.

the shins are playing on saturday (tomorrow night) @ the roseland at 9pm if anyone wants to go with me. i’ve been wanting to see them for a while and i don’t want to miss them, but i don’t want to go by myself either. so please if you want to hang out with me and catch a great show with a great band, then call me
